We are looking for a front-end JavaScript developer who gets excited about creating elegant, scalable, robust and maintainable solutions to complex problems. You’ll be developing on good kit alongside a friendly team at our Manchester HQ and around the UK who share the same qualities. Our large customer base is growing quickly and so this is a great opportunity to work with highly scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with designers and other developers to take a design from the whiteboard to reality
- Rapidly iterate on product features
- Implement robust, secure, efficient and maintainable code for our applications
- Embed test cases for the application logic
- Correct bugs and other technical issues in our existing applications to keep * technical debt to a minimum
- Stay up-to-date with application development trends and look for opportunities to take advantage of these in our applications and development processes
Requirements
- BSc or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong in JavaScript
- Experience using a front-end JavaScript framework like Ember, Angular, React, Backbone or similar
- Understand that resolving issues is just as important as building new features
- Hands-on, passionate and persistent
- Comfortable in a small, high-growth start-up environment
For bonus points
- Experience with large scale web applications
- Solid understanding of the full web technology stack (e.g. HTTP protocol, status codes, cookies, headers, asset loading / caching)
- Great designer instincts and pretty handy with CSS, SASS
- TypeScript experience
- Git mastery
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux
