Numuni has a unique technology positioned to transform the user experience of consuming digital content, increasing the content provider's earnings as they deliver that experience, and leveraging the GPU computing power as a commodity to increase efficiency and cost savings.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to spearhead the back end web services at the organization. The Senior Software Engineer position will work closely and directly report to the CTO. You will work closely with upper management to define software requirements and work with processes to design and requirements engineer technical specifications. In this role, you should work independently and with high autonomy.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, architect, build and scale back end JSON web services; including a publishers microservice, an affiliate management platform, virtual currency and more
- You’ll assist leading technical strategy and efforts for broad or complex requirements decomposing product strategy into insightful and forward-looking approaches
- You’ll work closely with the CTO to set the vision for strategic development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects and programs across the organization
- Actively own features and systems defining their long-term health, while also improving the health of other systems
- Develop performant systems through an iterative approach: building, measuring and learning
- Interface and pitch small to large projects, as needed, to the entire executive team working with the CTO to define scope
- Learn and use new web technologies
- Utilize error monitoring and assist triage of bugs and solving issues in production environments
- Review code and have your code reviewed
- Mentor and be mentored by other engineers and peers
- See features and projects to the finish line working with high autonomy
What You Ideally Have:
- 7-10+ years of practical experience writing superb, beautiful PHP web applications specifically APIs
- 5+ years of experience writing JSON APIs in popular PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability, scalability and resilience
- Experience building and debugging complex systems in both individual and team environments
- Experience with modern programming methodologies and design patterns
- You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed and transactional systems, and information retrieval
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-awareness, humility, a positive attitude, an open-source mentality, a sense of humor, and empathy
Bonus Points If You Have Experience With:
- AWS DevOps experience including working with Lambda, ECS/EKS, Kinesis, AWS Glue, et cetera
- Open Authentication (OAuth2) standard experience and scaling authentication services
- Strong CI/CD experience with platforms such as CircleCI or TravisCI
- Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest emerging PHP features or packages
