We’re looking for an experienced PHP developer to join our team. This is a fast-paced environment working on bespoke promotion campaigns developed for our clients. The websites you will work on will be used by hundreds of thousands of users each year for the largest tech companies in the world.

We develop the full stack in-house – that’s everything including front-end (VueJS), server-side (PHP 7.x), databases, caching technologies, and everything else in-between. The ideal candidate will have experience launching websites into production and be familiar with the full technology stack. That said, we don’t expect you to be an expert on everything. We’ll tailor the role and what you work on day-to-day based on your skillset and where you’d like to progress.

The essentials you should be familiar with include:

  • PHP (inc. PHP 7.x)
  • MySQL
  • Modern PHP frameworks, and the PHP FIG
  • Object oriented design principles
  • JavaScript and modern JS frameworks
  • CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS)
  • HTML/CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation)
  • Unit testing
  • Vagrant or Docker
  • Linux
  • Git

The environment:

Our development teams include experts in every aspect of software engineering, who you’ll be able to learn from and bounce ideas off.

We understand as a team that your learning is never finished, which is why we sponsor local developer meetups (PHP North East) and encourage everyone in the team to present new ideas and technology to the team during regular internal presentations.

We’re open to remote working too. Most of the technical team work in our Newcastle office, but we also have another office in London, and we have a few full-time remote developers.
