If you are a front end software developer looking use your talent in an endeavor more noble than tricking consumers into buying a new widget or helping traders earn big bonuses, take a look at Voxy. You will be instrumental in the complete overhaul and redesign of our application’s front end moving from legacy templates to clean client/server code. Voxy’s goal is to become THE vendor of first choice in the $80 billion dollar English language education market and our development team will be instrumental in reaching this goal.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- You will be the driver behind our revamped reactive, accessible, responsive and when the world is ready progressive front end application
- Build an innovative games/activity framework to engage learners in a scientifically validated manner that improves learning
- Create nicely-instrumented code that is testable and deployable, including A/B testing of new features for usability and efficacy
- We are global! So our interface needs to be global too. The front end is internationalized for learners with different cultures, viewpoints and language acquisition methods
- Build and refine a real time big data dashboard that our partners use to enhance learner outcomes
- Not afraid of taking on an occasional back end challenge
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience working as a commercial software developer
- Experience in a modern javascript frameworks such as vue, react and angular
- Curiosity and knowledge about technologies and architectural patterns of software engineering across the entire stack with a focus on front end technology (e.g. CSS, javascript, html5 etc)
- Pragmatism in understanding when to build the solution that scales to 1 million users or works for 100 users
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Vue.js is the front end framework Voxy uses(we used backbone previously)
- Python experience would be great for deciphering back end code
- AWS would be cool too, but no big deal if you haven’t
- B.S. or higher in computer science, science or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
