Job Description

This is a remote position.

World Triathlon, the international governing body for the Olympic sport of Triathlon, is looking for a candidate to fill the position of “Junior Web Developer”. We are looking to supplement our team of two developers (1 frontend, 1 backend) with a junior - intermediate developer.

An ideal candidate must be skilled or highly interested in development, data, documenting functionality and technology. Ideally, you have an interest in sport, working with different cultures and importantly bringing forward solutions for our staff and sport. The candidate will work under the guidance of our two developers and grow into ownership of projects with experience.

  • Develop new features and infrastructure in support of business and project requirements.
  • Writing well-designed, testable, efficient code.
  • High interest in technology and supporting the organisation and its staff.
  • Documenting and maintaining software functionality.
  • Tailoring and deploying software tools, processes and metrics.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suite for API endpoints
  • Occasional IT support for World Triathlon staff
  • Maintain, update and test software in step with latest stable versions: Laravel, Laravel Nova, PHP, Wordpress, Directus, Metabase
  • Create data visualisations and analytics dashboards
  • Assist race timing companies and developers in integrating with our live timing API
  • Monitoring internal & external support tickets
  • Respond to any critical security issues during Europe time-zone.
  • Ideally based in Europe though we're open to remote and relocation options.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a web developer
  • Ability to develop in Frontend & Backend Languages. Primarily; PHP, Laravel, Vue, Node, HTML, CSS.
  • Excellent knowledge of Databases, (MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Experience in software engineering tools
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications
  • Professional certification or Degree
